Maker's bio

I was told at school - "Jane - you can't paint", "Jane you can’t draw". So I shut off the artistic side of my brain and pursued other career paths. A few years ago I went on a wet felt-making course and was told that ‘this was the day that would change my life’. And it did. I love making felt - from the creative design process through to the tactile and therapeutic side of massaging the fibres - and want to share my passion with you. Join me and learn the magic of wet-felting.

"Beautiful venue, clear guidance from Jane, interesting content, generous materials & well fed into the bargain. Plus a sparrowhawk landed on her bird feeder during our lunch break. What is not to like. Jane has an interesting workshop filled with her beautiful work to inspire her students. All in all an enjoyable day & worth every penny of her reasonable charges."

"I really loved my day spent with Jane in her riverside studio and brought home three amazing samples created under her supervision. Jane is a great teacher, friendly and answering all sorts of questions about wool, felting, her travels - she also makes a very tasty light lunch!! Will definitely be going back again to learn additional techniques and to have more laughs."

"My daughter and I first visited Jane when her work was displayed as part of a tour of local craftspeople.This inspired us to book a workshop with her where we were given the opportunity to create 3 pieces of work using different felting techniques under her expert guidance. All materials were provided along with a delicious lunch within a beautiful location - we were proud of what we had achieved and enjoyed learning a new skill. Thank you Jane!"
