Chris B reviewed: Axe or bladesmithing weekend workshop – 2 days making your choice of a seax, bushcraft, bowie or chef knife

"Having taken this course (2 day Axe Making) over the past weekend, I can say it was worth every second and every penny. Matt is an excellent instructor and host, patient and informative (he even put up with my 1 billion questions and answered every one of them). Both days flew by with how fun they where and you really do make something you will be proud of. He even kept me brewed up with nice tea and coffee. Ali was a wonderful hostess and very friendly, The provided food was wonderful both days and they are just great people. Will be taking another course in the future."

Jason Clements reviewed: Three day pattern welding or etched knife & sheath workshop

"I enrolled on this course pre Covid lockdown and was really looking forward to it. Finally managed to get on it and it was worth the wait. First day was a lot of hammering and forging to get the billet together. I managed to get two folds done the first day and left exhausted. Day 2 was getting the next fold and drawing it to length. Close of the day and we had a knife shaped piece of metal. Also started the first grind. Day 3, finish the first grind, then the massively stressful heat treat. Matt took it very carefully, and my heart was in my mouth when plunging it into the oil. All done, it just became more grinding and finishing. Handle attach, blade etched and what a beautiful knife. Many thanks to Redwolf and Eldrum. Great lunches, great knife, and met two genuinely nice people. Thanks!"

James reviewed: Axe or bladesmithing weekend workshop – 2 days making your choice of a seax, bushcraft, bowie or chef knife

"FANTASTIC! Just finished a weekend making a chef knife, and it was absolutely brilliant! Matt and Ali are so friendly and welcoming, and Matt is an excellent teacher who really knows his stuff. He helps you learn really fast, while still keeping things fun and relaxing. I would 100% recommend this - the thrill you het from forging (FIRE!!) and the growing satisfaction from seeing your knife (or axe) emerge before your eyes are both awesome. Thank you Matt and Ali for a wonderful time (and the cake!), and hope to see you again!"

Ed Dunning reviewed: Axe or bladesmithing weekend workshop – 2 days making your choice of a seax, bushcraft, bowie or chef knife

"As an avid viewer of Forged in Fire or 'Bake Off for Blokes' as I call it, my sons got me the experience for my birthday. My eldest son and I had an absolutely fantastic weekend. Matt is such a good instructor, easy going and patient, his passion for his craft is so infectious. Expertly teaching all the techniques required, but at the same time he fully encourages you to be creative and add your own artistic flair. Ali kept us fuelled throughout, a big 5 stars for her homemade lemon drizzle cake. It was such a unique experience, made even better by our hosts. Would highly recommend it to one and all."
