Maker's bio

Formed in 2009 with the investment of PV panels on the local village hall, CEG has since expanded and now our activities include conservation work in a local woodland producing firewood and lump wood charcoal for the community, litter picking, craft courses and forest schools. Course tutors have many years of experience in green woodworking and we always keep our groups small to ensure you gets enough 1-to-1 attention and guidance. All courses are held in the amazing setting of Court Wood

Stephen Murphy reviewed: Spoon carving day - at Court Wood, Llanvihangel Court

"I bought this as an 80th birthday present for my father, we had a great day, relaxed and enjoyable. We came away with a couple of spoons each and a spatula and an appreciation of the skills involved. Roy was great teacher and we enjoyed the wide ranging discussions over lunch. Also the setting is wonderful and added to the relaxed atmosphere, carving wood in a clearing in a woods, what more can you want. Thanks to all involved."

Farid Bungay-Azman reviewed: Making shaker boxes in Court Wood at Llanvihangel Court

"It was one of the best course I have been on. Roy was very knowledgeable when asked a vast array of questions. The wood supplied was fantastic and we managed to make a number of boxes that day. I have since gone on to make a few shakers boxes but nothing compares to the atmosphere provided by the team. Thank you for a great day"

Crucorney Environmental Group CIC responded:

"Thank you for your review. I'm pleased you enjoyed your course with us. Do feel free to check out our other courses on our website or facebook. Perhaps we'll see you again :) Best wishes."

Gay Wales reviewed: Bowl carving - 1 day course at Court Wood

"Our guests loved learning about wood carving at a recent workshop! Adults, both young and old, who were attending our wedding flocked to find out how to carve a large wooden bowl and were delighted to have the chance to try out themselves. Thank you to Andrea for organising this experience for our guests!"

Crucorney Environmental Group CIC responded:

"Thanks Gay. We really enjoyed the day and it looked to be a huge hit with the guests too. Best wishes Andrea x"
