The wreath-making workshop was brilliant. The place itself is wonderful, in a lovely converted barn in the most beautiful countryside, with a log burning stove to keep us warm. And Belinda and George were so friendly and helpful - it was great fun. What's more, George had gone to such efforts to make the most delicious vegan mince pies and cakes. A thoroughly enjoyable experience which I'd heartily recommend to anyone.

A real treat. Best craft workshop I’ve been on - exceptional - 5* all round. Belinda and George gave us just the right amount of high quality teaching and support in a really friendly and focussed atmosphere so I think we surprised ourselves with what we made. The setting and studio barn are exceptionally beautiful. 5* for drinks and cakes too. I was given this workshop as a present and went home feeling as if I’d been given 3 presents - the workshop, the skill and the wreath! Thank you to George and Belinda.

What a lovely day, with good company, good food, and a chance to make something really different. I have just finished off my Mexican Offrenda, and am really pleased with it. The course was really well organised and gave us plenty of scope to be creative with help and advice when needed. Thanks Kay and George for a creative and relaxing day.

What a lovely day we had! The setting is beautiful, located in among the hills of Kentmere. The Cowshed is a lovely creative space with a roaring log burner and plenty of space to work. The food was delicious and plentiful - soup and lots of cake, with gluten-free requirements well-catered for - thank you!
The creating element was clearly explained by Kay and well-supported at every stage. Everyone was able to achieve success regardless of their ability. Resources were plentiful and enabled everyone to create something that was very much their own. I am really pleased with my Offrenda and felt a real sense of achievement as I am not confident in my artistic abilities at all.
Thanks to Kay for a lovely relaxing and yet productive day, and to George for being a great host. I look forward to coming back and maybe staying in your lovely pods too! I can thoroughly recommend the whole experience.

A wonderful colourful day! Cowshed Creative was easy to find and beautifully nestled in the fells, the barn was welcoming with a huge roaring log fire and lots of inspiration already laid out for us. Kay was a warm-hearted, fun, clear teacher - dressed like Frida Kahlo! - who had lots of ideas and practical suggestions when my piece got a little more complicated than the brief.
The atmosphere around the table was open and friendly, we all got to know each other a little whilst exercising our creative muscles and making - chatting and making, what a good combo! And with homemade food - seemed like a kaleidoscope of different breads, choice of soups (OK we tried them all!) desserts and cake. A lovely touch was a 'chillout zone' by the fire with inspirational books if you needed a break.
In short I thoroughly enjoyed my day and am terribly proud and excited by the piece I made... definitely recommend. Thank you Kay and Cowshed Creative.

An exceptional and magical experience at Cowshed Creative.
From learning how to form pinch pots to glazing, firing and smoking our Raku pieces, our tutor guided us with gentle humour and much considered kindness.
Our hosts provided a delicious lunch including pudding and cakes on both days.
The barn was warm and we could cosy up by the wood burning stove when in need of refreshments.
A wonderfully engaging course, enhanced by the idyllic setting of the Kentmere Valley... thank you Cowshed Creative.

The Raku course was such an enjoyable event. Two excellent days. Organisation was perfect as was the beautiful location. A lovely warm welcome from George on arrival. Chris was a fabulous, patient teacher and I made far more work than I expected even though I was a complete novice. The firing process was exciting and I loved the element of surprise as to how the glaze would turn out. Lunch and cakes by George both awesome. The barn was toasty warm and comfortable to work in. I wouldn't change a thing and would highly recommend taking this and any other course with Cowshed Creative.

A brilliant course. Hazel is a great teacher, she explains things clearly and thoroughly and has wonderful examples. She could interest and cope with all abilities, knows so much about felt, gave lots of inspiration and had amazing books about felt. The Cowshed is a lovely space, the fire was lit, lots of homemade delicious food including gluten free yummies. In all I felt very looked after and thoroughly enjoyed the day, just ace, totally recommend.

Excellent course, really good selection of materials and plenty of examples to help us to design our own pictures. Our tutor was lovely, really encouraging, helpful and patient. I was very impressed with the pictures I managed to produce.
The setting is lovely with the most amazing log burner to keep us warm and cosy. The food was all home made and delicious. A truly wonderful experience, I will certainly keep my eye open for future courses here.

This was an excellent course for me. I found it very challenging but left with a very strong desire to improve my drawing. I even set a target of doing one quick portrait a day.
Cowshed Creative is an excellent venue. There’s a roaring fire, excellent food and perfect hosts.

Kat is a wonderful teacher and the course was brilliant from start to finish. I even have a new found love of charcoal after working with pencil for so long, thanks to techniques and methods that Kat has taught me. George and her husband were great hosts at cowshed providing a homely atmosphere alongside delicious food and friendly conversation. Thank you to all for a wonderful day.

A really enjoyable day, a small friendly group of ladies who all supported one another. The tutor had time to spend with each individual which was good and the range of tiles and equipment was more than expected. The venue is brilliant and well thought out to accommodate a wide range of students. Our hostess was welcoming and the catering was excellent. It’s a little way out geographically but the drive is well worth the fabulous views. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone who is looking for a lovely day of craft, company and good food. Well done the Cowshed x

The mosaic class was excellent. It was a small, friendly class so we all had plenty of individual attention from our teacher Kay, and we had a good selection of materials to choose from. The barn is beautifully converted with a great atmosphere and an enormous wood burning stove to keep us warm. The lunch was delicious and plentiful with yummy cake in the afternoon. The day was great value for money, I'm very pleased with my mosaic and I'll definitely be going back to learn more.

I really enjoyed this course!
The venue is amazing and I was made so very welcome by George and Jo.
The workshop is extremely well organised, I felt like I learnt so much from the day.
So many skills were covered and I would not hesitate to recommend it. I left with the most amazing necklace that I still can’t quite believe I made ! The group worked really well and I think everyone would agree we had a fantastic day !
Oh and I must mention the food ! Yum! We were fed and watered throughout the day including a very tasty lunch Thankyou!!!

The location of Cowshed Creative is beautiful and the venue is roomy & homely. George is an attentive host - providing a good selection of drinks and delicious food (all homemade by the looks of it). We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived until the workshop ended. The course was great too; we learnt so much in a day and all came away with some beautiful jewellery. The only improvement I can suggest would be to make it a two day workshop, so that you could make more items and perfect the various techniques we learnt!!
Jo Butterworth - - #24409
Response from Cowshed Creative (Kentmere Farm Pods and Creative Courses):Many thanks Jo for your lovely comments and helpful feedback. Will definitely look into the possibility of a 2 day workshop next year.
Really enjoyed this course. Catherine was a great tutor, providing lots of guidance and encouragement. The venue was a lovely building, good location, but a little cramped for the activities. Food provided was generous and very tasty. Overall good value for money.

Really enjoyed my day at Watercolour Landscape at The Cowshed, wonderful place. Karen made the course so interesting and she so was very helpful. Can't knit or sew now with my fingers, but found I could manage the painting. New interest for me now. Thank you Karen and also George for her lovely home made food. Regards,Olwen Swan.
