Julie Elsadany reviewed: Ceramic sculpture for all abilities in Kent

"My friend and I booked on Brenda's 'Fur, Fish or Fowl' themed clay sculpture course, with doubts as to what we could achieve as complete beginners. We needn't have worried. Brenda is an excellent tutor, giving us background information on the clay being used and how it reacts in the drying and firing stages, as well as the vital do's and don'ts when sculpting the clay. There were only 8 of us and Brenda was able to give us individual attention at various stages during the day to ensure we mastered each process with ease and confidence. We thoroughly enjoyed the day which was so interesting and relaxing, even though we were concentrating really hard! The whole group interacted really well and it was fun seeing everyone's interpretation of the theme. We all came away feeling we had achieved something and wanting to do more. We would definitely recommend this workshop with Brenda."

DIANA Penhallow reviewed: Ceramic sculpture for all abilities in Kent

"Having never tried my hand at creating anything in 3D form before, I have to say that each time I attend a session with Brenda Burgess - and I have now been three times - I not only enjoy it more each time but also manage to produce something I am almost proud of. The hours spent creating are precious and relaxing and exhausting all at the same time and I really cannot wait for my next course. Brenda's guidance and patience is wonderful as she gives you the confidence to attempt the impossible or that's how it feels! Thank you."

Brenda Burgess Arts responded:

"Thank you so much for the lovely review Diana. It is really kind of you. I look forward to seeing you again soon. Brenda"

Gillian Corrigan reviewed: Ceramic sculpture for all abilities in Kent

"Brenda is an excellent teacher . She was brilliant at explaining to me how to build my sculpture step by step and encouraged me throughout. She was helpful without being intrusive. She had provided not only the basic materials but many additional resources The other people were friendly and the surroundings-we were at Godington House-beautiful. I made a green man mask and every time I look at it it makes me happy. Oh and there’s loads of cake and tea and coffee whenever you want."

Tina Price-Johnson reviewed: Ceramic sculpture for all abilities in Kent

"I attended the Green Man day at Walmer Castle on 2nd May, and found it inspirational! I have no talent with anything visual (or so I thought) but under Brenda's patient, warm and witty tutelage I came away with a Green Man portrait sculpture I am proud of, and the desire to make many more sculptures of all types. I will now be looking out for future courses run by Brenda and will be signing up whenever possible. I feel enthusiastic about getting the dirt under my fingernails and the creativity into the clay."

Brenda Burgess Arts responded:

"Thanks so much for your lovely review. It was lovely to see you and Simon at Walmer and I look forward to seeing you both again soon"
