A great introduction into making soaps, bath salts and body butters. I left the course with products I had made and was inspired to learn more about making my own soaps, bath salts and body butters at home. As a result, my friends and family all received 'zero plastic' hand made toiletries this Xmas. Also, lunch was fabulous, thank you.

Such a cute little venue. Arrived to teas and coffees and a table laid out so beautifully ready for our afternoon tea later.
The group was great, Julie and Janet got us all settled in and we were all chatting together in no time. Plenty of time was given for making each product and Julie was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to take questions. Everything was easy enough to make - no prior skills needed, just an interest. We all made one of everything so could pick out own scents/colours for each product. I came home with loads of new knowledge and a surprisingly large amount of each product (would have cost me a fortune for similar in a certain natural high street cosmetics store)!
The afternoon tea was divine, our requests were catered for. Every detail had been thought of, everything ran smoothly and it was a brilliant day.
The cost felt a bit of a stretch for my budget, but I really wanted to do it, so i went for it. So glad i did! When you add up the skills learnt to make future products, the afternoon tea, the fun had and the cost of the products you come away with - worth every penny and then some! Excellent value, excellent time had and i can't wait for my ingredients to arrive so i can start playing (oops I mean making) at home. I would be delighted to recommend this to anyone & everyone! Thank you!

From walking through the door. I knew we we going to have a great day. Julie is so knowledgeable, funny and very welcoming. I had already been making candles, but the information given and the ideas were very useful. The afternoon tea was delicious. The people who we met on the day made it a brilliant day. I will definitely be booking on some more courses.

I had a great day. I have wanted to make cold process soap for a while, but found the thought of using lye a little scary. Julie walked us through each step and given me the confidence to try it at home. There were so many oils and fragrances to try, as well as colours and botanicals, we were spoilt for choice. I've already made 3 batches of soap since getting home.

Well done crafters cottage team, what a excellent day, from the greeting at 10.30 to the farewells at 16.00, the day whizzed past. We made so many products, all carefully explained and individual help and assistance where needed, we all came away with professional looking bathing products.
Julie followed up the day with the relevant paperwork and recipes, a better idea than handing them out on the day.
I will certainly book some of the other courses on offer, at this amazing, quintessentially English venue, with its lovely afternoon tea.

I attended this course with my mum and sister and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Jools was an excellent teacher - she is friendly, funny and approachable. We learnt how to make several different candles and we took everything we had made home in lovely packaging. The afternoon tea was wonderful - there was lots of it and it was delicious - thank you Janet! I cannot recommend this course enough - it was a lovely day out and we are all keen to book another course. Thanks also to Ian who very kindly took us the train station at the end of a superb day!

Can I just say I've enjoyed my first candle making experience so much, an absolutely fantastic venue and first class hospitality. But wouldn't expect anything less from Julie and Janet who have a lovely Yorkshire welcome. On the course today we had a giggle and thoroughly great time. Would recommend this course to anyone who is looking to have a great day out and learning the skill of how to make candles. Fantastic value for money .
Can't thank Julie and Janet enough , I'll be back on another one of your courses in the very near future x
p.s The lunch was very nice too.

We attended the course on Saturday 8 June, 2019. We had had to cancel the one we were initially booked on in May due to illness but Jools kindly swapped us to a later date. The venue was very easy to find, the cottage was absolutely lovely - a fantastic place to do all that Jools and Janet do. Jools and Janet really friendly, nothing was too much trouble, they shared their ideas and experience. The learning opportunity was fantastic - lots of information and hands on experience and you got to keep the candles and wax melts that you made. Everyone really friendly, a relaxed and informal environment and quite therapeutic. We had a lovely afternoon tea served to us. All in all, I would strongly recommend this course. Absolute value for money and had a great time.

A lovely day spent learning how to make candles, it ran at a nice pace so was also relaxing but we still managed to make so many candles to take home. Afternoon tea was delicious too! All in all a great day, good value for money and a few laughs along the way. Thanks Julie and Janet, I'm sure you'll see me again on one of your other courses x

Had a fabulous day at Crafters Cottage with Julie and Judith learning to make candles with my best friend. The venue in Honley is beautiful and quirky and we were warmly welcomed on arrival. Julie is a friendly, patient and informative teacher - she shares lots of tips about the production process and details on how to purchase your own materials plus things to consider if you plan to create a small business. Afternoon tea was delicious and a lovely touch to break up the learning process - we even had time to pop next door to a little clothes shop in the break. Overall, an enjoyable and good value for money course. Thanks Julie and Judith for a wonderful, care-free day.

I came with my Mum and we had a really lovely day. The cottage is just perfect with a really friendly atmosphere. The soap making (and all the other things) were really fun to do with fantastic looking results. The afternoon tea was lovely - so much food and really nice. I couldn't fault the course and would highly recommend it.

Thoroughly recommend this great course. It was set at exactly the right pace and we learnt skills that we could take away and use again. It was great fun and very friendly. The afternoon tea was ideal. We came away with our little bags having had a lovely enjoyable time and learnt a new skill.
Anyone looking for a candle making course - go for it - you will not be disappointed.
