"I am the least creative person I know and somewhat embarrassed to admit that I had never even heard of felting ... so I was a bit worried about the day and what I might produce. However, I had a really great day and enjoyed every moment, even managing to produce something that might pass for a teddy. Well, a mouse maybe! Sophie is not only very skilled at her art, but is a brilliant, supportive and very encouraging teacher, it really helped my confidence. The setting is beautiful and lunch was very enjoyable. It was a really great, very enjoyable day and I would highly recommend it to anyone, regardless of how creative they may (or may not!) be."

"This was the best course I have attended. The venue was delightful, a beautiful studio overlooking an orchard garden. Sophie was a most welcoming host, who made the course participants feel instantly at ease. Hot drinks, snacks and a delicious, home cooked lunch were a most welcome extra on a course like this. But by far and away the best part of the day was the course itself. Sophie introduced the craft of needle felting, demonstrated the various yarns available, gained an idea of what the course participants wanted to achieve and throughout the rest of the day ensured that these goals were met with her tireless assistance and sharing of her knowledge and expertise. She has a real ability to impart her skills to others. I was genuinely surprised at what I was able to produce at the end of this one day course. I thoroughly enjoyed it."

"This is the second workshop I have attended. Sophie as ever was warm and welcoming. The class was informative and relaxed with patient help at hand when needed. The setting is beautiful and we'll equipped. Both days have been fantastic and I left with pets to be proud of. I cannot recommend the workshops more highly. In fact I have booked for another class and am taking friends with me."

"HIGHLY RECOMMEMDED COURSE Thank-you Sophie for an amazing felting workshop. We had a great day making beautiful little bears. Lunch was delicious although quite naughty. Please thank the gorgeous caterer for her desert recipe & for watching over my baby boy when she had a spare minute. He loved strolling through your gardens and was smiling for hours after his time with her. Overall this course was very well instructed, took place in beautiful surroundings and was an absolute pleasure to attend. Thank-you for a wonderful day & for bringing much sunshine to our hearts. One final note, I never write reviews (good or bad) but I had such a lovely day that I felt I should."

"An absolutely fantastic day. I really can't fault anything about this course. Sophie is a warm, generous and knowledgeable instructor and makes the whole day work really well. The venue is beautiful, the lunch was really delicious, but above all Sophie's teaching style was supportive, fun and enthusiastic. Her communication before the course was excellent and I knew exactly what to expect on the day. Just book... go on... do it. You really won't regret it."

"I went on Sophie's needle felting course with my sister and a good friend. We had become interested in needle felting and had previously had a go at making dogs, but when I saw Sophie's felt dogs on line I just fell in love with them and wanted to know how to felt properly. We travelled a long way for the day from Surrey but it was well worth the trek. We spent a very informative day with Sophie who gave us tips and great techniques on how to make the perfect dog. Throughout the day there were plenty of refreshments and halfway through the day we stopped for the most wonderful lunch beautifully prepared by Sophie's mum. I found the course inspirational and would certainly recommend it to anyone wishing to learn the craft of felting."

"I took my mother along for a day of crafting and had a wonderful time! Sophie was a great host (ably assisted by her mother in the kitchen) as well as being a knowledgeable, patient and informative tutor. Sophie was happy to accommodate our varied ideas and supported each delegate to explore the world of felting through our individual projects. We came away with an eclectic mixture of canine characters and all totally hooked on felting! Sophie sent us all a really helpful guide to purchasing our own resources as a follow up to the course. I would thoroughly recommend one of Sophie's courses; a lovely way to spend a day."

"I attended Sophie's Needle Felt a Dog day with a friend and had an absolutely brilliant time, coming home with a competed dog, much to surprise! Sophie was so lovely - enthusiastic, encouraging and patient. The lunch laid on was beautiful and Sophie and her Mum went out of their way to ensure all dietary requirements were catered for. A fantastic day, I will definitely go back for further courses!"

"I took my mother- and sister-in law as a gift to a dog felting workshop - we all had a fantastic time and were thoroughly spoilt with delicious cakes and lunch. I have a gluten intolerance and Sophie was very thoughtful and catered to my needs which was really appreciated. The craft course was excellent - having no previous experience I found it hard to believe by the end of the day I would have my own hand made needle felt dog, but Sophie's teaching and patience meant the whole group progressed and were able to finish their project. Sophie was very enthusiastic and the course, setting and food were all exceptional."

We were served the most delicious home made soup for our lunch, followed by an scrumptious fruit 'crumble made by Sophie's mother, with drinks and biscuits freely available throughout the day. "I went on one of Sophie's 'make a dog' courses with my mum and sister and absolutely loved it. Sophie is fabulous. Very patient, good humoured and kind. Even with no experience what so ever a little fluffy dog still emerged for all three of us. Her work is something to aspire to, she is simply a genius! I'll be ordering one of her designs too... she is able to capture a dogs character in seconds. Loved the food too, thank you ladies."

"I recently attended Sophie's course and would highly recommend it to everyone. Sophie and her Mum are the most welcoming people I have met. Although a little daunted at first, Sophie guided us all from loose bits of wool through to finished individual dogs. Sophie is an excellent teacher with an amazing amount of patience. She explains everything thoroughly and is always on hand in case you need a little extra guidance. The lunch was amazing ...thank you and I would love to attend another workshop soon Thanks for everything"

"I attended one of Sophie's learn to needle felt a dog courses with my mum and sister (great gift idea!) Id tried it a few times at home and my mum and sister were complete beginners but like to sew - we all came away with 3 very unique little dogs to an amazing standard considering our abilities!! A testament to sophies teaching... One of the things we loved was the freedom to create your own dog rather than being forced to make something you weren't onterested in. This makes you learn faster and care more- especially if you use a picture of your own dog. Sophie goes above and beyond to her students from the pre course emails, her greeting, homemade food and drinks, the day itself then after the course she continues to be super helpful providing useful information about wool and suppliers. The whole day on Saturday was fantastic! I can't fault it and would highly recommend that anyone should attend. So if your unsure... Trust me and go! Sophie is a natural teacher, very open and not at all intimidating or hard selling her own commissions. I've learnt so much and think I've found myself a new exciting hobby. (I'm not usually crafty Thank you Sophie."

"My mum and I attended one of Sophie's courses one Saturday and all though i was nervous about going to start with as soon as you see the location and meet Sophie you instantly feel at ease. Sophie and her mother are easily two of the nicest people you could wish to meet and kept us all fed and watered with homemade hearty food and cups of coffee and tea while we felted and had a good laugh with the whole group, it really does feel like a day out with a group of friends. As well as this you gain the knowledge of the different wools and the skills in how to make these little dogs and before you know it your taking home a whole new hobby. I wouldn't hesitate for a second in recommending Sophie's courses and can not wait to do more myself!"

"My daughter and I attended one of Sophie's needle felting courses one Saturday and we had an absolutely wonderful day. Having had no experience of needle felting before, we came away feeling confident that we could give it a go as a hobby. The small dogs we made have price of place on display in our home! Sophie is an amazing teacher, as well as being one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet, my daughter and I absolutely adored her. Sophie and her lovely mother kept us fed and watered throughout the day with home made goodies, the training room was the perfect setting and we met some truly lovely people. Sophie also gives very good advice on materials and her knowledge of the different types of wool was very useful. "I went along to Sophie's dog-making workshop with no knowledge of needle felting whatsoever, and by the end of the day had created my own little collie-cross in miniature! This craft was an astonishing revelation - to be able to construct such a tiny, intricate model simply by rolling strands of natural wool into balls and stabbing them with needles! And yet, the painstaking care with which Sophie explained, demonstrated and helped us all individually, transformed this basic task into the most inspiring day I have had in years. She is an excellent teacher, patient and methodical, with enormous enthusiaism for her craft. All her materials are ethically sourced, and she provides detailed information about the sheep breeds and shades of wool. We were served the most delicious home made soup for our lunch, followed by an equally scrumptious fruit 'crumble made by Sophie's mother, with drinks and biscuits freely available throughout the day. All the arrangements and facilities were excellent, we were warmly welcomed on arrival and reluctant to leave at the end! I encourage anyone who has never considered this fascinating craft to spend a day with Sophie - your life will be transformed for ever!"
