About the Course
A fun and relaxing weekend of spoon or pendant carving workshops, camping out in the Lancashire countryside.
With expert guidance and tuition throughout the weekend, the spoon and pendant carving weekends are suitable for all levels of carving experience; whether you’re a newcomer to the world of spoon or pendant carving or just looking to enhance and build upon previous experience. Participants can choose whether they carve a spoon or pendants. Beyond the group workshops, there will be plenty of time for one to one tuition, support and advice to suit your individual needs.
Encompassing the whole process of carving from sustainable wood selection and design principles to tool selection, knife work and finishing you will gain a strong foundation of knowledge and insight into this traditional creative craft. With a strong focus on my principles of working with, and understanding the characteristics of the wood, participants of this two day workshop will design and hand carve their own unique wooden pieces to take away with them.
With the camp fire burning and tools put away, the Saturday evening will be an opportunity to relax, ease aching hands and talk with like-minded people, sharing experiences and knowledge and forging new friendships.
