About the Course
This course gives you an insight into the endless possibilities of sculpting with wax. Working with locally sourced natural beeswax, you will be introduced to a variety of techniques, used across the world for thousands of years.
The tutor will guide you through making whatever you wish, including jewelry, trinkets, household décor, figurative sculpture, ornamental animals etc. You will also be introduced to the technique of plaster work, allowing you to introduced typography and bas-relief into your wonderful wax masterpieces!
Abigail Burt has travelled to Nepal and India to learn the traditional techniques of lost-wax casting, as a Winston Churchill Fellow. Abigail is a fine art sculpture and contemporary medal maker. For private enquiries and additional courses, such as bronze casting, please contact Abigail.

What's included in the price?
Natural modeling wax and tools are provided. Messy clothes or overalls advised!
Light refreshments are also provided.
You will be invited to leave your wax models with the tutor, to be taken away and cast in bronze! This will require a small casting cost, dependent on the weight of wax.
