Susan Nichols is one of the original Wire garden Sculptures artists in the north of the country and has been running these amazing wire garden sculptures courses for the past nine years - the results of the students work that attend her workshops are second to none and she constantly ensures through the day that her students remain ' on track' with their sculptures-. She has taught at Harlow Carr and many other prestigious venues as well as and still from her own studios in East Yorkshire.

Each August she travels over to the Lake District to teach those west of the Pennines how to make her fabulous sculptures Made out of pre cut sectioned galvanised chicken wire. they are solid, sturdy, and designed to last for years and years in your garden. If the weather is fine we usually work in the garden . Material charges payable to the tutor on the day are dependent upon wire prices at the time typically around Geese @ £15 per bird
Hens @ £12 per bird Susan brings the wire precut and sectioned - in ready to use pieces.

WHAT TO BRING ON THE DAY

The cafe has some strong aprons you may borrow. .

Perfect setting for a perfect course and lovely food- all homemade - if I lived nearer I would be there every month

This course is fab - I had no idea what a large and lifelike goose I would be making. I also thought mine would never look like the course leader's model. But it does. I am so proud of it and love having it in my garden. The course was extremely well managed, great fun and totally absorbing. I plan to do more.

Excellent course by a very capable instructor, and we all came away with wonderful sculptures. Added to that, we had a delicious lunch in the cafe garden (price included in the workshop fee) in a really convivial atmosphere.

-

My second wire sculpture course, just love it. Sue is a very patient teacher and I came home chuffed with my creations!! Will be booking for next year.
