About the Course

Pip Cottage willow workshops range from obelisks and sculpture for the garden, to bird nests and feeders, living willow construction and traditional English basket making.

14th October 2017 is a Catalan style tension platter making workshop at Haworth Art Gallery running from 12 noon to 3.30pm and is suitable for beginners or the more experienced. The platter looks great hung from the wall and is very practical to use for holding fruit, bread, cheese........Class numbers are small and relaxed so that everyone gains the skills to successfully make their own handcrafted basket.

I have been teaching natural gardening and crafts for over 13 years and basketmaking since 2012 for various environmental organisations and more recently for my own business Pip Cottage. I was lucky enough to win a Heritage Crafts Association/NADFAS Award last year to study traditional English Basketmaking and will be passing these skills on at the workshops.

The workshops are run at Haworth Art Gallery, an Arts And Crafts building in Accrington that houses a large collection of Tiffany glass, and Cronkshaw Fold Farm, a rural educational farm set in Helmshore.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

All tools and materials will be provided and light refreshments on hand throughout the workshop.
