Course Start DatesThursday 4th June 2020
About the Course
Join Richard Kerwood of Windrush Willows for an enjoyable day making willow decorations for your garden, including sunflowers, bird feeders, dragonflies, hearts and fish.
The course assumes the student is a beginner and starts with a Health and Safety briefing and an explanation of the tools and how to use them. We generally start with a demonstration of how to make the Bird feeder, followed by the dragonfly. Students then decide which other items they would like to make, and generally go home with 3 or more items, plus the knowledge and inspiration to try many more!
This course is suitable for anybody, including children aged 7 and up.
Please wear warm clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. You might want to bring an apron and a notebook. All other tools and willow will be provided.
Course Leader - Richard Kerwood
Richard Kerwood established Windrush Willow in 1998 with his wife, Suzanne.
Windrush Willow is dedicated to growing and promoting the wonderful species of Willow. We are busily planting up 4 acres of land in Devon England with 140+ varieties of Willow, and are currently producing in excess of 250,00 Osier Rods each year.
We use friendly methods of growing our rare coloured varieties for diverse habitats, and producing beautiful bark colours for weaving with.
