Description

Weave your very own Christmas Tree from Willow ready to take home and decorate! We make our Willow Christmas Trees by supporting the upright Willow rods in a jig and then using Willow withies to weave the tree. We start in a similar way to making a garden obelisk using a tabletop jig, the weave is then changed and we end up with a beautiful, full-looking Christmas tree. There are different weaves that can be used to create your own design, every tree is unique. Suitability The workshop is suitable for adults and children (if accompanied by a paying adult). You will be able to work independently or in pairs. > Birtley Woodland Art Space: Workshops at this location are outdoors so please dress accordingly. We do have a large outdoor deck and shelter in the event of a shower.

Hedges & Hurdles is a family-owned business run by Lorraine and Paul Matthews. Paul is a national award-winning Hedgelayer delivering Hedgelaying and Hurdle Making training courses during the autumn and winter months. Lorraine is experienced in delivering various types of courses for both individuals and groups including Wood Craft & Willow Craft Workshops. Workshops and training courses are run from a selection of picturesque locations across the Surrey Hills and Sussex. These experiences are suitable for private group bookings too with a choice of catering options available.
