Ideal for those who wish to begin playfully making baskets! At this general Willow Basket Day you can choose to make either a sculptural free woven basket, a Zarzo basket or a round gathering basket that involves traditional English techniques.
Experienced tutor and basketmaker Sarah Le Breton will teach you willow weaving techniques and how to maintain your finished basket.
All my Willow Basket & Animal Sculpture Days are suitable for beginners and for those with existing willow weaving experience. Just bring along lots of enthusiasm and by the end of the day you will be taking home your chosen willow basket or animal!
These willow days are taught at Coates English Willow, situated at the heart of this country's willow growing industry on the beautiful Somerset Levels (TA3 6HY). Coates has been growing willow in the Somerset Levels since 1819. On site is the Wetlands & Willows Visitor Centre with a museum, gallery, shop and cafe.
For previous attendee testimonials please click on the Gallery tab on the Courses page on Sarah's website.
