Weaving a wallhanging on a frame loom with Stitching Kitchen

Colourful weaving
X

Description

Have fun with a variety of wool, fibres, threads, string and fabric. You will use a simple frame loom to weave a textured wall hanging during the workshop. We will cover the basics of weaving, warp and weft – and creating simple patterns too.

I will also show you how to add texture to your weaving with Rya knots, Soumak and loops. With a range of textures and colours in the yarn box I am sure you will find what you need to make a wall hanging to suit your home decor.

This one is particularly good if you are looking for something mindful; using both hands helps to reduce stress by engaging your brain in a simple repetitive task. Weaving is an ideal way to get a break from our busy lives.

Also suitable for children over 8 years, maybe a useful antidote to the stress of school and exam pressures.

Your tutor will be Hannah, the owner of Stitching Kitchen. She set up the business in 2017 to share her passion and skills in all things involving textiles, fabric and threads. Her courses are relaxed and fun, they are held in her Stitching Kitchen in Brackley, Northants where she provides a range of teas, coffee and homemade cakes.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
