Would you like to upgrade the bamboo cane and string plant supports in your kitchen garden? Perhaps you're looking for something more substantial to display a climbing rose or clematis?
I can teach you the skills to make your own climbing plant supports from natural materials. With my step-by-step instructions you will learn how to make a strong structure that will also be a beautiful, sculptural focal point in your garden.
Using renewable coppiced willow, your plant support will be environmentally friendly and sustainable. With the techniques I demonstrate, you will be able to construct whatever supports you need, in a variety of sizes, whenever you need them. You'll never need to buy a plant support again!
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
This is an online class that you can follow from your own home (or garden!). It comprises seven video lessons totalling about 40 minutes plus handouts on what materials and tools you need and where to get hold of them, how to make a jig to hold your uprights together whilst you weave on them and how to care for your plant support.
You can pause, rewind and replay the videos as much as you want.
You also get access to a private Facebook discussion group where you can show off your creations to other students and ask me for advice. You can also email me anytime if you are stuck.
There is the option to buy a kit of all the materials you need or, if you prefer, you can source your own.
Secateurs, timber or a large cardboard box to make a jig.
Willow if not purchasing my kit.
