Focusing on trees and techniques for creating atmosphere, depth and texture. Shari will bring plenty of visual references of trees and, of course, we have all the beautiful trees at Dillington for inspiration.
We will explore setting up wet into wet backgrounds with lovely light and atmosphere for our trees to grow out of. Experimenting with a variety of techniques for distant trees, birches, gnarly, twisted old trunks and enjoying some autumn colour.
We will cover brush techniques and mark-making as well as some interesting ways to create surface patterns and textures like bark.
Shari Hills lives in Cornwall and is known for her imaginative marine and nature-inspired paintings. Her work is exhibited in several galleries in Devon and Cornwall and she runs a variety of watercolour classes and workshops.
