About the Course
Three day weekend residential art course, run by the Field Studies Council.
This mainly studio-based course is suitable for both beginners and those with more experience of watercolour. It is especially designed to help everyone develop and expand their range of watercolour techniques so you can make exciting and expressive paintings, full of colour and texture. See also 30 Jul-03 Aug if you would like to join Siân for a full week and enjoy a 10% discount on the fees.
Siân Dudley is a professional artist, qualified teacher and much in-demand as a popular demonstrator. She has over 20 years' experience in teaching art at all levels. She approaches each person's needs at a highly individual level and is perfectly happy working with beginners as well as more experienced painters. See also 31 Jul-04 Aug for an opportunity to extend your stay to a full week working with Siân. If you attend both courses, we offer you a 10% discount on each of them.
Bring a friend! If you are attending a course at Flatford Mill at the sole occupancy price, we are offering a special rate for a friend or partner not enrolled on the course to also stay at £50 per night for dinner, bed and breakfast. Please get in touch directly to book this offer.
Flatford Mill lies at the heart of the Dedham Vale, on the banks of the River Stour near the Suffolk-Essex border. The Centre buildings, particularly the Mill and Willy Lott’s House, are instantly recognisable since they feature in many paintings by John Constable. The rich mosaic of lowland landscapes, wildlife habitats and places of historic interest are all reflected in our extensive programme of courses.
The Centre is located between Colchester and Ipswich and is about 10 miles from each, approximately 2 miles from the A12.
