About the Course

Enjoy a 3 day photography course, including accommodation. Run at Preston Montford by the Field Studies Council.

The Long Mynd and Stiperstones nature reserves are two of Shropshire’s most iconic upland landscapes, justly celebrated for their beauty. Andrew Fusek Peters has been working for custodians Natural England and the National Trust on a long term environmental project called Stepping Stones. His photos of these hills andvalleys regularly appear in the national press and he has authored the first ever National Trust Guide book to the Long Mynd. This course is for keen amateur photographers and those starting out who wish to take their skills to the next level, with the focus mainly being on landscape, but also wildlife if opportunities arise. Our main aim to find ways to chase light and frame its action over these hills and valleys. To this end, there will be both early pre-dawn starts and also shoots that focus on sunset and dusk, with possibilities of working on star and milky way set ups if the weather is in our favour. There will also be evening talks and post-processing sessions to develop subtle skills that bring photos to life, both for print and to share online. Finally, Andrew will share some of the inspiring stories of Upland based on his deepening relationships with conservation bodies, farmers, rangers and landowners

Andrew Fusek Peters is highly published conservation photographer currently under commission to the National Trust and Natural England.
