We are offering upholstery skills workshops suitable for beginners or those with some experience. The workshops will accomodate 8 or 9 people in a small and friendly group and our focus for the weekend will be on the upholstery techniques needed to make a footstool.
We can also consider other smaller items such as a Lloyd loom box or a blanket box, for those with some experience we can help you with a small chair but you would not finish this in a weekend unles it was a dining type chair. We are using modern upholstery techniques and would be happy to discuss your project with you.
The workshops will be run by 2 experienced upholsterers, Judi and Amy and we will ensure that everyone has a good learning experience and some fun as well!
It is not always possible to complete a project in 2 days as it depends on your working speed, experience and your project. We will ask for a photo of your project so that we can discuss it with you before you arrive.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
The fee includes all tuition and pre-course guidance, free parking, refreshments and afternoon tea whilst upholstering!
We provide tools and other equipment whilst materials will need to be purchased and this will depend on your project and the size etc. We can advise when we see a photo. We have some fabric in stock but you may want to bring your own vintage fabric or buy something you have seen, we can advise on suitability of fabrics.
We can supply footstool frames of a variety of designs, please contact us to discuss. The cost is likely to be £30-60 and we would need 3-4 weeks notice, you may also require legs which cost extra depending on your stool design.
