About the Course

Are you interested in how you can to turn a shirt that's too small into a cushion/ soft toy/plastic bag storage? or a ripped up pair of jeans into a handbag? then look no further.......

Whether you have never used a sewing machine before, have experience and want to develop it further, or just don't have access to a sewing machine at home and want to make a few things for your self, come along to our drop- in sessions.
We can also help you learn to knit, crochet or hand embroider if you are not so keen to make things with a machine.

We would like to create a crafting community that can help each achieve great things and make items to help the local community. We have an experienced sewing tutor who can guide you along your crafting journey.

With poverty becoming a wider issue in the region and also refugees who are in need, we can use our skills to help them, by making soft toys and clothing or soft furnishings we can add a little joy to those who have low incomes and cannot afford to buy these sorts of items on the high street.

Sessions are 10.30-12.30 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
We are a community center based in Prescot in Merseyside, run by Verity Rhodes and her team.
PLC Activities (Vee's Place) are a registered charity (1093064) but we charge a small fee of £5 per session to cover running costs of the premises.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

Tea/ Coffee provided.
Access to sewing machines and other equipment and an experienced sewing tutor.

Some materials can be provided for making items that Vee's Place can sell/ give away, but as we have no budget for buying in stock, for projects you wish to work on for yourself we ask (where possible) that you to bring your own fabrics, threads and accessories.
