About the Course
A two year step-by-step course in traditional upholstery, designed for career changers. Taught systematically through a series of exercises in year one, building to the complete reupholstery of a fully sprung armchair in year two. Teaching is on Thursdays. Three twelve week terms each year, roughly coinciding with school term times. First year exercises: drop-in seat, stitched edge square stool, stitched stuffover dining chair, well seat, sprung dining chair, stitched scroll arm, box cushion. Second year: complete reconstruction of a traditional armchair.
The fee of £2,640 is for one year. An initial deposit of £880 will secure your place for Year 1. Payment of the balance will be in two instalments of £880, on or before 30th September, and on or before 30th November. What's included in the price?
All standard upholstery materials. If special materials are required students will be expected to pay for them, but nearly all materials will be included. Use of tools. We have upholstery kits available for sale if students want to use their own tools.
