Description
Karen Dawn Curtis runs each throwing session for one with the knowledge that throwing is a motor skill that anyone can learn. The teaching will be tailored to the individual learner’s needs. Karen will create a fun and relaxing lesson while you develop the skills you want. Beginners-These sessions can be for, those who have used clay before and for novices to both clay and throwing. Karen will work with you to develop the basic motor skills needed to throw simple forms on the potter’s wheel. Intermediate-These sessions are for those who want to learn and those who want a refresher. Karen will assess your ability and support you to throw the forms that you want to make from bowls to enclosed objects.

Clay, apron, all equipment, tuition, and glaze firing of one object or bisque firing of two.

Maker
Karen Dawn Curtis is a ceramic artist who has been teaching art workshops for over 10 years both in the UK and abroad with a variety of learners. Karen has a BA (HONS) and Masters in Ceramics and a PGCE in Adult Education. Karen enjoys teaching all ages of learners. Karen believes that every person is creative and has the ability to learn and enjoy ceramics. Karen loves seeing learners’ confidence in clay develop whether it is their first touch of the material or have been making for many years.
