Whether writing for yourself or writing for publication, journaling in nature unleashes powerful creative energy.
Many of those who write nature journals, or would like to, often don’t realize the many techniques and tools at our disposal. We miss opportunities, not only to access the wisdom of the natural world, but to tap into our own wells of creativity.
Designed for those passionate about giving voice to the natural world, this course teaches you all you need to know about keeping a written nature journal.
Whether you want to write for publication, or as personal growth, this course will transform your relationship to nature journaling and your own writing voice.
Nature journaling is a powerful tool to elevate your creativity and deepen your connection to the natural world. It can also be transformative, rewilding not only your language but your psyche and soul.
From the moment we gather, we shall start experimenting with different journaling techniques. You’ll learn how to deepen your intimacy with the earth and tap into the wisdom of nature to support your own path of transformation. You’ll learn which techniques to use, depending on your situation, mood and the impact you want to create.
Most of the weekend will be spent outdoors, exploring the grounds of Hawkwood, pens and journals in hand. We will share our writing in circle, learning from each other how these journal techniques shape our language and our imaginations.
You will also learn one of the most important, and most neglected journal techniques, helping you integrate the gifts and wisdom of nature in an entirely new way. This is particularly helpful for eco-therapists and forest bathing guides looking to use nature journaling with clients.
Registration with tea 4.00pm Friday. Course begins with supper at 6.30pm and ends after lunch on Sunday. Please bring good walking shoes, a pen, a dedicated journal, and an object from nature to bring as part of the introduction.
