About the Course
During this day in a traditional village blacksmiths forge you will learn the basics of metalwork, and have a tour of projects in progress at the workshop. You will practice the techniques of forging metal into traditional forms such as points, curls and twists, and create your own poker, hooks, or similar project to take home.
As this course is limited to two people, you can work together on one project or If you go alone and are matched with someone you will have plenty of time for one-to–one tuition.

Ian is an excellent day teacher, taking us through from a small simple project right through to a complex lantern hanger. The pace was casual but provided us plenty of challenges under simple and precise guidance from Ian. I highly recommend this course for anyone wanting an introduction to the art of blacksmithing.
