On this course you will create your own unique fabric using a combination of fibres, threads and a variety of fine gauzy materials. Starting with a hessian base you will build up a surface using bonding, hand stitch and a layer of machine stitch to finish.
This technique allows you to use up small amounts of precious fabrics and your outcome will depend on the fabrics and threads incorporated into the work.
By the end of the day you may have completed a small item or be making something larger to be finished at home. Finishing instructions with be discussed and demonstrated.
What to bring:
Open weave hessian approx. 50cm x50cm. bondaweb approx. 50cm x 50cm
Small amounts of colourful fine fabrics like gauze, scrim, fine cotton, chiffon.
