Create unique colour layered prints using a variety of textural materials and mark making.You will learn how to create a textural cardboard plate [Collagraph ] that you can use many times to make individual and creative prints.

The workshop will cover printing your plate in relief and intaglio.Using a variety of inking methods including viscosity inking stencilling & mono printing to get the most from your plate. We will use the etching press at Brewery arts to print the plates. You will also be shown how you could hand print your plates at home.

All abilities welcome!

Christine teaches screen printing, photo etching, reduction lino printing and monoprinting. Her work has been exhibited in the cloisters of Gloucester Cathedral during the red ink exhibition; at the Ruskin Mill gallery, The Print makers Gallery and in Havana Cuba. In 2014 Christine worked as Artist in residence at Matemwa Zanzibar Tanzania working with Guests at the Panga Chumvi beach resort and working with students at the Matemwa school. She is printmaking tutor & Chair at GPC Gloucestershire Printmakers co-op.

You can turn any of our courses into a short break by staying in our on site accommodation. When you book a residential package you will get discounted accommodation in our stylish boutique hostel located in the centre of Cirencester in the Cotswolds right next door to New Brewery Arts. Our former 19th Century Cotswold stone brewery barrel store has been beautifully transformed into 21st century accommodation, light and well-appointed with a craftsman’s attention to detail. We offer guest accommodation for up to 43 people over two floors in 14 rooms, with a choice of single, bunk, family and double bedrooms, 12 with en-suite facilities. A ground floor disabled-friendly room is also available. The hostel provides a stylish communal dining and relaxation area, self-catering kitchen, laundry facilities and lockers for your bike. As with all our courses and workshops these are led by experienced tutors and as you will be part of a small group there is plenty of time to focus on you.
