The teapot is the iconic pottery object. The aim of his workshop is to make and decorate 2 fully functional teapots.
The day will start, learning a little about their history, looking at images and examining real life teapots, to give you some ideas for the day’s workshop.
You will learn how to coil clay into a mould for one teapot and for the second, how to roll out slabs of clay and cutting the shape from a template. You will learn how to make handles, spouts and how to fit a lid. We will finish the day by decorating the teapots using underglazes.
The tutor will fire and glaze the Teapots with a transparent glaze and return them to Micklems Farm for collection roughly 4 weeks after the workshop.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
