Surrealism and silliness collage workshop

Surrealism and silliness collage workshop

Join artist Julie Galante for this online workshop in which you’ll make paper collages out of recycled and reused materials. In this session we’ll be getting creative and a little silly with found images and words. Julie will provide step-by-step demonstrations and guide you through making your own series of collages.

Collage is a way of creating a visual work of art by combining different elements - be they found images, patterns, bits of text, textured papers - in new and sometimes unexpected ways. This workshop, which will be delivered via Zoom, is suitable for absolute beginners - no previous experience with collage (or surrealism) required!

To prepare for the workshop, you’ll start collecting various bits of paper that you come across in your daily life. This can include newspapers and magazines, flyers, advertisements, packaging, photos, gift wrap, instruction sheets, pretty much anything! One of the things we love about collage is repurposing materials that would otherwise end up in the recycling bin. In the workshop, you'll arrange and combine these collected items to create unique pieces of art.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
