About the Course
Learn how to make incredibly realistic sugar flowers to put on cakes. There is practically no flower you can't make, although the most popular ones are roses, peonies, lilies and orchids. They are suitable for all celebration cakes and can also be made from non-edible cold porcelain for home decoration purposes.
I am a two times Gold award winner from Cake International, NEC for floral arrangements. I am passionate about my craft and really enjoy passing on my knowledge to others. I can offer 1:1 or small group tuition at most times including evenings and weekends, barring Mondays.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
Cost includes 3hrs of 1:1 tuition per person plus materials, use of all necessary equipment and refreshments. You choose the flowers/foliage you'd like to make. 10% discount for small group bookings of 2 or 3 or for returning clients.
Full day tuition is available.
I loved all of Tracey's teaching. I had a 1-2-1 session and learnt so many techniques that developed me in many ways. Fantastic teacher and so calm and patient too. After the learning I will now admire sugar flowers on cakes in a different way, as it has taught me how much effort and time and dedication is used to create a sugar flower. I was so inspired and would love to learn more. Tracey, is most definitely an expert in her field of work. A very talented person indeed.

Response from Tracey's Sugarcraft:Many thanks Manjit. It was a real pleasure to teach you
Had an absolutely fabulous morning learning to make sugar roses, pansies and other flowers. Tracey is an excellent teacher and even though my friend and I were complete beginners we came home with some beautiful flowers. I have to say I am now ‘hooked’ and will book more sessions with Tracey to learn more!

I had a very wonderful lesson with Tracey. She was very patient and completely thorough with her teaching. I have never done sugar flowers before but I was extremely impressed with what I was able to achieve in a half day course. I made a tiger lily and it looks so real!! Will definitely be booking further courses with Tracey in the future.

I spent a fascinating morning learning how to make a daffodil and tulip. Tracey really tailored the workshop to meet my needs and was both patient and generous with her knowledge. Tracey pays so much attention to detail and it shows in her award-winning flowers. I’ve come away not only with some lovely flowers but lots of tips and techniques to help me perfect my flowers as I continue to practise on my own. Would definitely recommend.

Had the most amazing day making sugar paste flowers with the fantastically talented Tracey Calvert! She has (unsurprisingly) won gold medals for her work but is also a fab and generous teacher! If you can run to a 1-2-1 it's great (I made a rose and a tiger lily) and she gives so much inspiration and oodles of tips! Wish I could put the photos on here!
