At Cowshed Creative, we run an extensive range of art, craft and heritage workshops in our beautifully converted art studio. Treat yourself to a creative experience on our traditional family farm in the heart of the Lake District. From the fantastic and consistent feedback we have received, you are sure to have a great day!
Stylish tote bag: With expert step-by-step guidance, you will work from a pattern and learn how to cut out and stitch a beautifully lined bag with a pocket. Choose from leather or faux leather handles or straps, for a really professional finish. An extra special gift for someone or enjoy using it yourself!
You will need some sewing experience to do this workshop, with both hand and machine stitch. Christine Stanford is a professional textile artist. She trained in Embroidery at Manchester Metropolitan University and was a lecturer in textiles and fashion for many years at Preston's College. Christine is passionate about recycling fabrics and memorabilia. She exhibits and sells her work nationally and has been involved in teaching a wide range of ages within schools and community projects, which she loves.
This workshop will be at Cowshed Creative, based in a converted Lakeland barn on our traditional family Farm. The art studio is a stunning open plan space with plenty of room to wander outside and take inspiration from the amazing Lakeland landscape and environment of the peaceful Kentmere valley. Make it a special break and stay in one of our luxury camping pods on the farm. Check out our website for details. Special measures will be in place to help keep you safe.
All our tutors are carefully selected professionals and experts with extensive teaching experience. Whilst this is a relatively new venture, George, who has set up Cowshed Creative, has many years of experience programming and running creative courses at the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal and for Cumbria Adult Education.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
£70 fee includes some great tuition, a stunning venue and a tasty 2 course lunch with home baked bread, cake and refreshments throughout the day. We like to finish the day with a cup of tea and slice of cake. Eat outside or enjoy lunch by the wood burner.
There is no additional material fee but students will need to bring their own art materials. A list will be provided.
