Stylised Tudor Flower is a crewel work design inspired by the Tudor era, their love of colour and stylised images. Crewelwork is embroidery with wool threads and was extremely popular during the Tudor times with stylised patterns covering a variety of surfaces, especially home linens. Nature, and in particular flowers, was a popular decorative theme for the Tudors. Make It Your Own hand embroidery kits are created for you based upon the strong belief that nurturing individual creativity is fundamental to the wellbeing and that art should be celebrated for being unique rather than a copy of another artist's work. My embroidery kits are different to most on the market – they do not encourage you to simply repeat what is on the outside of the box; they inspire you to unleash your creativity and to take time to escape from the real world for a time and to learn something new, whilst exploring your own creativity. The design is printed onto the fabric for you, with the choice of thread colour and stitch is yours to make, enabling you to create your own unique piece of textile art. Lots of hints, tips and stitch instructions are included with the kit and further support is available should you need it. As a tutor and artist, I am a strong believer in enabling my students to find their own style, encouraging students to create textile artwork that is unique as they are whilst providing support and guidance to explore and learn new skills. I have distilled this experience into a range of kits that you can immerse yourself into, anytime and anywhere. Intermediate embroidery kits are for those with some embroidery experience and who already know basic stitches. The design is printed onto the fabric for you and the choice of suggested stitches is a little more complicated than the beginner's kits – but don’t worry there are full, easy to follow stitch instructions included with your kit. Different threads are introduced to you, again with lots of hints and tips on how to best use them, which will add new dimensions to your artwork. Once again, the choice of stitches and thread to use is yours.
