About the Course
This one-day training is designed for people or organisations with interest to use beekeeping and honey and beeswax trade to alleviate poverty. This is not a hands-on course about bees.
We cover the different species of bees that are utilised world-wide, and introduce a range of topics concerning beekeeping in developing countries.
Training day topics include:
Apiculture in developing countries and how it supports livelihoods
Problems faced by beekeepers in financially poor countries
Appropriate and sustainable - issues of technology choice
An introduction to honey marketing and trade
Case studies: success stories from around the world
