This workshop focus on the core techniques that you need to create jewellery. This includes soldering, piercing, texturing and finishing. You will also learn how to create your own project based on stone setting. You will come away with various pieces including a stone set ring.
Week One: ou will be shown how to use a piercing saw, then how to make a stone setting using cold connections.
Week Two: First students will finish off project from week one. Then a demonstration will be given on silver soldering.
Week Three: Fee will lead a demonstration on bezel setting. This will then lead on to the students making a pendant drop or ring.
Week Four: Make a pendant drop/ring with bezel setting.
Week Five: Students will finish of their projects with the help of Fee, she will also be demonstrating correct ways to finish your Jewellery.
It is run by Fiona Cocks BA(Hons) who is has been teaching classes for over 10 years. The 2.5 hour sessions takes place in the workshops of Bigbury Mint, which is in Ermington, near Ivybridge, in the heart of the South Hams area of Devon.
Courses run on Thursdays evenings. We can take group-bookings at other times as well, and these can be tailored to your needs.

All tools and materials are provided. Turn up ready for a 6pm start on Thursday evenings with clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, and shoes suitable for a workshop (not flip-flops or sandals). parking is available right outside.

Covid – 19 Secure Statement
Due to Covid-19 we are currently limiting the courses to 9 people. You will be required to wear a face covering. Our workshops are socially distanced in our working Mint. Tools are sanitised before and after use. There will be a quick informal chat about sanitising on arrival. Unfortunately, we cannot offer tea and biscuits on arrival now, you are advised to bring a flask.
