This short course is suitable for beginners, you will be introduced to some traditional jewellery making techniques including stone setting. You can use your own stones for setting or some will be provided for free, this will include sea glass or pebbles. If you would like to use semi precious-stones theses will be available to purchase at a small charge.
Week One: Fee will give a demonstration on bezel setting, each student will have a discussion as to what they will like to make, either a Ring or a pendant drop or both depending on the students abilities. A small amount of silver will be provided but if making a large or several pieces there will be an additional charge for the silver.
Week Two: Students will be making their own bezel setting projects using found objects such as sea glass or their own cabochons stone. Fee will bring in some semi-precious cabochons that can be purchased for a small cost. All processes will be guided by the Tutor.
Week Three: In the final week you will be shown how to finish your piece.
The course is run by Fiona Cocks BA(Hons) who is has been teaching classes for over 10 years. The 2.5 hour sessions takes place in the workshops of Bigbury Mint, which is in Ermington, near Ivybridge, in the heart of the South Hams area of Devon.
Courses run on Thursdays evenings. We can take group-bookings at other times as well.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
All tools and materials are provided. Turn up ready for a 6pm start on Thursday evenings with clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, and shoes suitable for a workshop (not flip-flops or sandals). Your legs need to be covered and please bring an apron if you have one. Parking is available right outside.

If the notice is less than 30 days, you will not receive a refund for this course. We retain the right to refuse entry to anyone who is aggressive or under the influence of drugs, including alcohol.
