A six day foundation course in cutting fine letters in stone and practising essential drawing and layout skills.
Tutor, Robbie Schneider MRBS, studied sculpture at Camberwell and Byam Shaw Art Schools in London and later specialised in lettering. He is a full member of Letter Exchange and on the Scottish Lettercutters Association and an elected member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors. Robbie exhibits widely and does many public and private commissions. His work can be found throughout Britain, from Kent in the South to Shetland in the far North. Robbie works primarily in stone but he also works in wood, metals and other materials.
Each day will run from 9.30am to 5pm. This is a relaxed, friendly course suitable for a range of abilities and experience set in a stunning coastal town in the Scottish Highlands.
What's included in the price?
All tools and stone are provided. Participants may purchase their piece of stone at the end of the course should they desire (exact cost tbc, around £40). A delicious, home-made lunch is included in the cost each day. B&B accommodation in the beautifully converted Old Brewery in the town is also available with a discounted rate for participants on this course. Please see the website for more information.
