PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A 6 HOUR WORKSHOP THAT IS SPLIT INTO TWO WEEKLY SESSIONS OF 3 HOURS EACH
DATES: Friday 16th & 23rd April, 10-1pm
Saturdays 8th & 15th May, 10-1pm (So either select the April or May date)
In these 2 x 3 hour live online workshops you will learn the basics of free motion machine embroidery and create a 12 inch square panel depicting a cheerful house and a wreath of flowers around it.
You will learn how to : Set up your machine for easy trouble free stitching; “draw” with the sewing machine; use bondaweb to apply applique shapes to the fabric; solve common problems.
This workshop will be delivered virtually via the online platform Zoom so you will need to make sure that you have a suitable device and a strong wifi with access to the computer or tablet/ipad or smartphone/iphone. It will be helpful if your machine and computer device are in the same room. You do not need to have an account to join. Just before the workshop, you will be sent the zoom link to join. There will be a limited number of participants so you will be able to interact with other participants and the tutor throughout.
This is such a great way to learn a new skill in the comfort of your own home. At the end of the session, you will be shown many examples of other projects you could then go on to try by yourself.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
Prior to the workshop, you will be sent a pack of materials and preparation notes. Please book in time for materials to be posted to you, (if it is less than a week you will be sent a materials list). Each stage of the workshop will have many demonstrations and we will work through the session one stage at a time. After the workshop you will be emailed the workshop notes.
For the workshop you will need: a suitable sewing machine which has a drop feed facility and is in good working order, good quality regular sewing cotton in a dark colour, a darning/ machine embroidery foot, scissors, a frixion pen (or other transfer pen), and an iron.
