This is a full day workshop which runs over 5 hours with a break for lunch (Times: 10.30am - 3.30pm).
You will create a stunning statuette in either bronze or lead colour - a real piece of art.
First you will build a base structure for your statue before dressing it using a selection of different fabrics. Using the Powertex fabric hardener you can drape, twist, fold and scrunch the fabric to create a figure dressed in any style you like - sleek and elegant or rough and shabby - the only limit is your imagination.
Once your statue has been dressed and dried, you will bring them to life and highlight the fabric's texture by applying pigment colours using a dry brushing technique.
At the end of this workshop you will take home your gorgeous, finished statue. Each statue will be approximately 40-50cm tall.
The workshop on 10th September will run at Toft Hill Community Centre, Bishop Auckland
The workshop on 25th November will run at The Durham Dales Centre, Stanhope
