This class is all about creating a world for your characters.

Learn about different styles, mediums and tips and tricks to make your backgrounds and scenery come alive.

Simone Padur is a long time art educator and author and illustrator of 'Things That Go Bump...IN THE NIGHT! Simone has always loved creating and illustrating stories and creating a fun inspiring learning environment for students of all ages.

The best part with this class is you can join the online studio and live tutorials from the comfort of your own home and be inspired and share work in the class' private Facebook group.

Learn to develop your skills of representation through a variety of media and discover your style of writing as a budding author and illustrator.

Discover how to create engaging characters and interesting plots through various writing and drawing techniques.

This class will cover children’s picture book writing and illustration and young adult graphic novels and illustrated short stories. This class can also be tailored to suit the interests of the participants.

Lots of enthusiasm, a good internet connection, and some drawing and writing experience necessary.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What you will need

-A strong internet connection,
-zoom software
-Sketch book: A4 110lbs/165gsm
and a pocket sketchbook that you can easily carry around with you.
-Pencils: HB, B & 2B
- White Rubber (STAEDTLER recommended)
-Pens: Pilot G-Tec Pen (or other fine tipped pen) Black, Ultra Fine & Pilot Drawing Pen (or other Water proof pen )
-Watercolour: Black, Prussian blue, Purple Lake, Scarlet & Lemon Yellow, ivory black, burnt sienna, cadmium red light hue, cadmium yellow deep hue, cadmium yellow pale, ultramarine blue or French ultramarine, Phthalo Blue, Viridian Green, alizarin crimson, yellow ochre and sap green
-Paper: Water Colour 140lbs/300gsm block
- Pencil Crayons: Beginners Set (Prisma Colours Recommended)
or Water Colour Pencils: Beginners Set (Derwent Recommended)
- Water Colour Brushes: Sable or synthetic/ round and flat (and whatever you like to work with) Round sizes: 0, 4, 6 & 14
