About the Course
Picture framing can be a rewarding hobby, personal expression and creativity are often required to fulfil a project.
In this Beginners Course, I teach the following:
Cutting a mount
Cutting a frame
Joining a frame
Sealing the back and fixtures
There will be between 2 and 3 on each course. (Maximum of 3)
We start at 10am and finish around 4.30pm.
Please bring your own lunch but ample coffee and tea is provided.
Berwick train station is 2 minutes walk away and there is free parking at my studio.
I run a friendly and hopefully informative course, based on 33 years in the trade and running 2 galleries.
No experience is required, but due care around sharp blades is essential.
The price is £130 to include a finished frame* per person.
Payment should be made at time of booking or must be received 7 days before the course date.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All tools to use are included.
Standard glass, plain white mountboard, backing material and fixtures are for you to take home as a completed frame.
Mouldings differ so much in shape, size, colour and price, that at time of ordering this course, please tell me your requirements.
I recommend a neutral and simple moulding, of which I have a small selection, as this is a beginners course.
This is included in the price.
(Bigger, more exotic frames will cost more and may prove disappointing when starting out).
It is best if you bring with you a small picture that you would like to frame, up to a maximum Final finished size of 12 x 16".
This maximum size is to ensure everyone gets the same detailed attention.
Course dates are flexible; please get in touch for the next available date.
