Standing Wool - a traditional technique of rag rug making
Contact course provider
About the Course
Explore the traditional technique of standing wool rug making with Rosemary Stow - one of only a handful of practitioners of this forgotten craft.
The workshop will be held upstairs at Quillies, a craft shop in Rhayader in the heart of Wales. Places will be limited to 10. There is a possibility of running a smaller workshop downstairs for those with mobility problems
As with all rag rug making techniques, standing wool uses upcycled materials - specifically boiled wool. All tools and materials will be provided but, if you have any wool jumpers or scarves that have shrunk in the wash please bring them along.
At the end of the workshop you will have made a couple of coasters and/ or a trivet which could also form the centre of a rug should you wish to continue with this craft.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
