Spinning Wheel Secrets

Do you have a spinning wheel and want to know how to use it? This course is the start of the adventure. Step by step you will be guided through understanding you wheel and making your first wool yarns.

Each week you will gain access to videos and printed materials focused on a different technique, or fibre. On Thursdays there will be a live zoom where you can ask questions and share you progress with other spinners. We will also cover more about yarn design.

By the end of the course you will have made several sample yarns and started the journey to designing the yarns you want to make. Week on week you will get to experience different aspects of this ancient craft and also how to make it your own to achieve the yarns you want to knit, crochet, weave or craft with.

This course is designed to work with a kit including everything you will need to put the course sessions into practice. Including silky combed top, springy carded batts and colourful rolags. Each type of wool is chosen and prepared to compliment the skill you will be learning each week.
