Sow, grow, dry and arrange

Prepare for colour in the garden next spring and summer, and colour in your home throughout autumn and winter. Sow your own dried flowers!

No prior gardening knowledge is required.

In this workshop you will take a brief tour of the flower field and hear about preparations autumn and what went well [and not so well] during the summer.

We will discuss how to sow and grow your flowers that are all specifically suitable for cutting to use as a dried flowers. All seeds sown are suitable for growing outside in our North West climate. You’ll get hands on sowing seeds, whilst discussing how to care for the emerging seedlings, grow them on, then cut and dry them ready to arrange.

At the end you will arrange a small posy, made up of flowers grown and dried here during the summer.

Take home your dried flower posy and tray of sown seeds, ready to give you colour, shape and texture next spring and summer, along with the knowledge of how to grow them into wonderful plants.

This workshop will take place outside so please come dressed appropriately in warm layers and sturdy footwear [no heels or flip flops]. Shelter is available should we need to take cover from any rain.
