Soft gathered lampshade making at ShedLight

X

Description

Join Vanessa to make this quintessentially English soft lampshade, which brings colour and softness to both formal and relaxed room settings. She will show you how to make this french drum shape cute gathered, unlined lampshade in a days workshop of approx 7 hours, using hand stitching techniques with modern fabrics you can choose from. Or you may wish to use your own unwanted chiffon or silk scarves, adding individual style to your room. I am a 3D Design Artist with a BA Hons degree (woods, metals, plastics) and a lifetime experience of working with fabrics in dressmaking and soft furnishings. I have also taught crafts in a secondary school for 16 years. The course is relaxed so you can work at your own pace with plenty of friendly support and guidance. Cannot make it to me? For a minimum of 2 people, I am happy to travel to you for a workshop in your own home within a 10-mile radius (mileage in excess of this would incur travel expenses).

What's included in the price?

Endless tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available plus a 25cm diameter lampshade frame with fabric, thread and use of my tools. Additional kits are an extra cost. Please bring your own packed lunch.
