Accredited by the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers, this course can lead to a professional certificate qualification that have been designed for those wishing to work within the Furniture, Furnishings and Interiors industry or who may wish to start their own business.
The AMUSF Diploma qualification is a three stage programme designed to give experience in the design and practical skills required to develop a successful soft furnishings business. You will start with a series of samples that will hone your hand-crafted sewing skills that will give you a collection of beautiful samples that could be used when talking to your customers. You will produce full scale projects that will give you valuable experience of designing, measuring and planning projects: lined curtains with hand-stitched headings, blinds and cushions etc. You will also learn how to enhance your work with decorative detailing that is commercially viable. You will also learn about the requirements of setting up a successful soft furnishings business.
Course Structure: This is a one year course based around the academic year with half-term and holidays in line with Hertfordshire schools. The course is run on a Friday.

Course fees are £3360 per stage
All prices are inclusive of 20% VAT
AMUSF Registration Fee is a compulsory fee paid to the AMUSF for the assessment and certification of your work.
The course fees include all the materials used on the sample pieces, but you will be required to supply fabrics and sundry materials used on your assessment pieces.
