Description:

I am City & Guilds trained and qualified and will teach you how to make bespoke soft furnishings with a professional finish.

Machine made lined curtains
This is an ideal course for beginners. I will teach you all the skills necessary to construct lined curtains to a professional standard. This style of curtain is predominantly sewn on the machine and has a commercial heading tape attached, either pencil pleat or triple pleat. You will learn how to calculate your required fabric quantities when using both plain or patterned fabrics, including how to calculate pattern repeats. You will also learn how to join widths of fabric and achieve perfect pattern matching. You will make a sample curtain, which will include all of the techniques needed to make full size curtains. You will receive comprehensive step by step instructions, including my easy to use table for calculating fabric quantities.

What's included in the price?

All tools and materials needed, along with lunch and refreshments throughout the day. You will also receive comprehensive course notes to take away with you.

Book and come along with a friend and you will both receive 10% discount

I attended this course on Sat 18th Feb. Janet was very welcoming. She was very patient and there was a lovely atmosphere. I was extremely pleased with the tuition received. Janet was very helpful and provided clear instructions. All materials were supplied and I made a 1m curtain, pattern matched, lined and with header tape. It contained all the necessary elements to enable me to scale up to construct full size curtains. I came away from the class with a great sense of achievement and very proud of myself. Janet provided clear notes to follow and for me to take away and a step by step chart to follow.

Janet provided lots of refreshments and a beautiful lunch. I am certain that when I undertake my first unsupervised project that Janet would be happy to provide any support (if needed). It was a most enjoyable day. I really enjoyed it and would recommend.

As a beginner, I found this course perfect. Janet was very patient with me and I was amazed at how much I learnt in one day. I have since made a lovely Roman blind for my daughter who could not believe I had made it myself- thank you, I would recommend this course 100%
