About the Course
A Sunday workshop for people who have attended the 'Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving' workshop, or for those with basic skills that would like to expand their knowledge. Between 10am - 4pm in the beautiful setting of Fulflood Gallery, a three minute walk from Winchester train station.
What to expect:
The workshop will guide you through various weaving techniques including creating pictures and shapes, how to link shapes together, adding fringing (tassels) in patterns, braiding (soumak), finishing techniques and more.
Spaces are limited to six people to ensure you receive as much guidance as you need.
You will have the opportunity to buy your loom at the the end of the workshop for £20.
I like to work with as many sustainable materials as possible and, where possible, I try to source end of line and second hand materials that would otherwise go to waste.
There will be a wide selection of materials available to you ranging from banana, hemp, linen, paper, cotton and recycled yarn to rose, mint, bamboo and flax fibres.
You will be provided with all the materials you will need for the workshop however if you have any material at home that you would like to experiment with then please feel free to bring them along.
Parking & arrival:
There is no official parking for the Fulflood Gallery but Winchester Train Station is just a three minute walk away (carpark A on Google) with ample parking, there are a few free spots directly outside the gallery on Stockbridge Road if you're lucky, and you can also park for free on the residential roads around the gallery (Elm Road, Weston Road, Fordington Road).
Please arrive a few minutes early to ensure you have time to park and to grab a cuppa before the workshop begins.
I look forward to meeting you soon but if you have any questions beforehand, please feel free to contact me.

You will be given your own clear workshop handouts to take away with you.
Tea, coffee, herbal tea and biscuits (GF and vegan) will be available all day but please bring your lunch with you.
Really useful step up from the beginners workshop. Ellie endlessly patient and helpful. Small group so all the attention one needs. I really appreciate the range of materials to choose from.
