About the Course

Join artisan silversmith Iasthai Original and create a solid sterling silver bangle inspired by the Silverdale Hoard (displayed in the Fearsome Craftsmen exhibition).

In this beginner’s workshop, you will learn how to craft a beautiful and unique, hand wrought silver bangle inspired by Viking silversmithing.

We’ll explore techniques demonstrated in the bangles that form part of the Viking Silverdale Hoard using two round silver rods to create a twisted cuff.

Students will get an insight into the skilled work of metalsmithing and learn the basics of manipulating silver, soldering, hammering and forming. They will leave the session with a huge sense of accomplishment and their own handmade unique bangle, polished to a high shine.

No previous art or design experience is required. Beginners warmly welcomed.

Suitable for adults.
