Silver metal clay is an amazing material! Made from recycled silver, mixed with organic binders and moisture, it can be textured, shaped, cut and moulded like clay, but, when it's fired, it reverts to become 99.9% fine silver again. This means that you don't need any prior jewellery making or silversmithing skills to enjoy this media and make beautiful, fine silver jewellery pieces!
This one-and-a-half- day workshop will start with an introduction to 3D design considerations and the opportunities that silver clay gives you for adding amazing detail and features within your charm.
You will make every aspect of your three dimensional piece. You can choose the shape, surface finishes both inside and out, learning and developing your skills with complex construction techniques as you go. You will also have the chance to add additional decorative silver elements if you wish before refining your piece at the end of the first day.
Having been fired overnight, the shorter session on day two will be spent reviewing the techniques learnt, Q&As, polishing your piece and adding an optional patina if you wish.
The course dates shown are the first day of the course. Your workshop will finish around midday the following day.
This workshop is suitable for those aged 16+.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
17g of silver clay, use of all tools and equipment to complete the project are included in the course fee. You will need to bring a pack lunch on the first day and drinks for both days.
If you are unable to make a published date, please get in touch as I'm always happy to run workshops on demand. No minimum number required and no extra cost.
