Shawl Pins with Polymer Clay
Contact course provider
About the Course
On this workshop you will learn how to make 2 decorative pins using polymer clay. The pins make gorgeous and unusual gifts with which to fasten a woolly wrap, decorate a knitted hat or scarf, or embellish a chunky knit.
Polymer clay is an ideal material with which to make a decorative pin as it is lightweight and therefore won't pull the garment out of shape. It can also be moulded, shaped, textured and blended to produce fabulous colours and design details, creating beautiful, wearable pieces of art!
Working with an infinite selection of colours, and a variety of textures, shapes and surface patterns, your tutor, Jo, will show you how to design your pins, build a clay cane and work with the materials to achieve strong, durable and completely unique pieces. There will be demonstrations throughout the day and lots of advice and tips on good practice. Finishing and polishing techniques will also be covered.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
