Shabby Vintage Style Journal with Brenda Brown

About the Course
The Midori style Heartfelt journal from the Eileen Hull Sizzix Collection is just as popular this year as it was last year.
In this workshop with Brenda Brown, you will make a gorgeous shabby style vintage journal sample if you follow Brenda’s colour scheme in lovely neutral colours using DecoArt media acrylic paints. Although it will be made from the same die-cuts Brenda used in her January workshop the finished look will be very different. Brenda’s style is to layer paints and mediums mixed media style and this will be very much like that including some crackle on the inside covers. If you love your journals this would be a great workshop to do.
Please note that most of the workshop time will be taken for making the journal and the decorative elements on the front cover but towards the end Brenda will teach you to make one signature by sewing the pages together with a kraft card cover and show you a different way to insert the elastic than she showed in the last journal workshop she did. Please bring some plain and patterned papers cut to 20cm x 22 cm making each page 20cm x 11 cm when folded to add two other signatures. If you would prefer refill notebooks can be bought online.
Attendees will –
- Use stencils, stamps, crackle medium, texture sand paste, a brayer and washes to create the seven different techniques.
- Experiment with acrylic paints using a brayer and making watery washes to layer colours and create different effects.
- Make a and insert signature to get the inside ready to use.
- Add embellishments that will bring this journal to life.
